To start this new page, we have received a wonderful missive from "anon" about the Flower Festival that was held over the weekend... Read and enjoy... and if you visited the church, we hope you will share what is said below.....

"FLOWER & CRAFTS FESTIVAL

June 2007

A Visitor's View.

It began on Friday with the bells:  a powerful, rhythmic peal which positively demanded your presence in the church.  And once through the door, the magic began.

There is something wonderful about the combination of flowers and church architecture; the one compliments the other.  Our mediæval pillars had become an avenue of green; the rood stair doorway had become the frame for a cheerful white display which disappeared mysteriously round the winding stair; a red lion roared from the chancel screen.  The ingenuity was everywhere amazing.  Behind pictures of local taverns, inn-signs sprang into colourful 3-D life; not only stunningly beautiful but tributes to many hours of patient thought and skill.  To single out any one arrangement would be very unfair to this wonderfully thought-out and presented exhibition. Nevertheless, if you were to twist my arm, I would have to say that the ones I enjoyed most were “The Fighting Cocks” for the sheer brilliance in its use of blooms, and “The Jolly Gardeners” which even included a clue to the reason for their jolliness!  Full marks to the Sunday School too for their clever interpretation of “The World turned upside-down”.

Nor did the skills end there.  In the Lady Chapel was yet more evidence of the hidden talent among our local citizens in the form of a comprehensive display of every kind of domestic craft.

I popped in for an hour and remained, enchanted, for three.  If there had been an award for “Best Quidsworth Anywhere”, this event would have won it hands down!"

We would very much like to thank "Anon" for the super comments... we would love anymore out there!!
